Latest Updates from Our Project:

Status Report (2020.1.15) - Quick Update on FulFillment and PAX South
over 4 years ago – Wed, Jan 15, 2020 at 08:19:37 PM

Tl;dr - Most have Destination Danger in hand, some international shipments are still pending; Guardian Moon Games will not have a booth at PAX South, but Jeff will be there (w/ copies of DD).

Fulfillment

Based on shipment tracking, almost everyone has their copies of Destination Danger in hand! A small number of you (all outside the US) are waiting for games, and I appreciate your patience as we shipped everything from the United States. Hopefully future games have a larger following in Europe and we can work fulfillment options that are local, as that would certainly have been better for everyone. Also, don't trust the US Postal Service tracking information - I noticed two shipments that were scanned in Finland today, but were never scanned before they left the US...clearly something was mishandled, and I've been following up w/ USPS to address things.

Also, our test shipment of play mats and posters in the more durable shipping tubes was a success, so I will get the remainder of those out to everyone next week. I appreciate your patience, and hopefully that delay hasn't negatively impacted those of you who ordered those items.

PAX South

Guardian Moon Games will not be hosting a booth at PAX South this year (several personal conflicts are impacting most of the team from attending). However, I (Jeff) will be at the show checking out new games and enjoying the weekend with everyone else. I will have copies of the game with me (though not on the show floor - I'm sure PAX would have a problem with that), including expansions and some play mats. I also have a new game (codenamed Attack Zone) to demo and concepts for another game (codenamed Social Grace) that I'd love some feedback on, if you're interested in that kind of thing.

If you'd like to catch up, shoot me a message over Kickstarter or Facebook (I'm an admin on the Guardian Moon Games page and the Destination Danger group). I would LOVE to meet you and get your feedback on this game and other stuff in our pipeline.

Quick Suggestion for those headed to PAX South: check out our friend Tim Fowers' booth (21046) on the show floor (Burgle Bros is an all-time favorite) and our friends at the Dice Throne booth (TT50) in the TableTop area.

That's it for now! Courage!

Status Report (2019.12.30) - Fulfillment Update!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Dec 30, 2019 at 06:06:22 PM

We hope all who celebrate had a wonderful Christmas with those you love, and we wish you a very happy New Year!

Fulfillment Update

First and foremost, for logistics reasons we have split shipments of Destination Danger from shipments of art prints and play mats. Logistically, these require different packaging to ensure they arrive safely, so please don’t be surprised if you receive your game and not an art print or play mat as they are still on their way.

Almost all US and Canada shipments of the game have gone out. We have a few orders that are slightly more complex that we are working through, but they should be out in the next day or so. Prints and play mats will likely be out right after New Year’s Day.

Over half of the International shipments of the game are out the door, with the remainder going out in the next couple of days. Prints and play mats will also be a bit delayed - the packaging we purchased makes us a little nervous for those longer trips, so we’re looking at a few things.

From a Few Backers

We appreciate all of you and are really excited to see how you enjoy playing Destination Danger. A few of our more local backers have already received their copies and sent over some of their feedback:

“We enjoyed the freewheeling quality and randomness of the action, especially compared to other role playing games - everyone had a great time. The game is a lot of fun and is much easier to get into than say Dungeons and Dragons. The Game Master is the linch pin to it all.”

“You would have really enjoyed to see how everyone played. Funny responses, creativity, serious role-playing. So much fun that we even got an email from [our nephew and his wife] the minute they got home about the fun they had had.”

We hope you all get your copies of the game and have a great time jumping in as well! Remember, if you need some help or GMs want tips, join the Facebook community of those adventuring toward Destination Danger!

Courage!

Status Report (2019.12.23) - Shipments going out this week. Unboxing Video!
over 4 years ago – Sun, Dec 22, 2019 at 11:23:27 PM

Shipment Status

Product got delayed at port and customs before coming delivery to us. We received everything at Jon's home late in the week and are in the process of getting everything packaged and out the door THIS WEEK. That will miss Christmas for those in the USA and Canada (sorry...the port delay killed our chances), but we're in the final stretch.

When items ship, you should receive confirmation via BackerKit. Where possible (based on region) we will provide tracking numbers for you. Should you run into issues, contact us via BackerKit (which is more directly tied to fulfillment at this stage) or you can DM us on Kickstarter if you're having issues.

Unboxing

I pulled up to Jon's home the other night and saw the play mat on the table, so I handed my phone to Trevin and told him to start recording. Check it out!

Note: Jon had bent the cover of the field guide before he'd handed it to me to unbox. I thought I had a fresh one, but alas...

We're in the final stretch - thanks for all of the kindness and support!

Happy Holidays!

Status Report (2019.12.10) - Up-to-Date Timeline for Shipping to Backers!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Dec 10, 2019 at 11:25:52 PM

Hey Everyone,

I hope everyone is gearing up for the holidays, and that those in the United States had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. We are nearly set to start getting shipments out and have a few updates (being as transparent as possible).

Has Destination Danger Arrived in Texas?

Not yet, but it arrives in the next two days. We were given incomplete/inaccurate data stating that shipments would arrive in Houston on December 2nd, but that was actually the date everything arrived in Los Angeles and was forwarded to Houston... We're on it and our local partners who have communicated directly with the shipping companies to confirm that everything will arrive in Houston this week. They will still need to unload the ship, get through customs, etc.. before they are transported to us. That could happen as quickly as this Friday, it may bleed into next week... We simply cannot guess where our games are on the ship and when exactly they will be released, but we're within just a couple of days.

So When Will I Get My Reward?

Our team held a long meeting tonight and we are committed to getting your rewards into your hands as soon as we can manage. Here is how that breaks down, depending on where you live...

USA / Canada: We will be shipping product via USPS as soon as we can package it and print labels. The question you may have is, "Will I get Destination Danger before Christmas?" While we cannot commit to anything, as much is outside our control, we will do everything we can to package and ship with enough time for the postal service to get packages to your home ASAP.

Rest of the World: Your shipments will go out at roughly the same time as those going to backers in the US and Canada - we are not arbitrarily holding them for a later date. As these are traveling much further and going through local customs, the shipping process will take more time (no surprise). This means we are likely to miss the holidays and you'll receive your shipments in January.

For all shipments, we will be updating you via BackerKit's built-in shipment support, so you'll know when shipments leave from us and are headed your way.

So What is Next?

Shipments are priority #1, then it's on to ensuring all of you receive your awards and are happy. Then it's on to some work to retrospect on the entire development process for Destination Danger so we can do all of this much better next time. We've learned an incredible amount about how to better run a Kickstarter, work with an extended team that included freelancers, and how to manage complicated relationships with manufacturers. We need to decompress a lot of that learning by pulling people together and getting everything on the table, which will lead to much better decisions on our next slate of projects.

Through all of that learning, our backers (that's you!) have been incredibly supportive and enthusiastic about getting Destination Danger into your hands. We are committed to doing much better for you and the others who will take an interest in our future projects. We have more to come from the Primer series (Primer is the play system Destination Danger is based on), and we are looking at a couple of other tabletop games that we think could be very exciting. We will keep you all posted!

That's it for now. Please take care of one another, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Status Report (2019.11.20) - Destination Danger is on its way to Texas
over 4 years ago – Wed, Nov 20, 2019 at 06:11:08 PM

More to come, but we wanted to get you a swift update. Destination Danger has been shipped from China and is on a boat to the United States. Our pallet should arrive at the Port of Houston on December 2nd, which means we can start getting shipments out before Christmas!

More to come as we see how shipping progresses and if we hit any delays at the port, but we've worked the logistics and have pulled in an extra partner to help ensure that everything goes smoothly from here on out.

That's it for today, but we hope to have a bit more to share soon!

Courage!
